We are 50Hertz - one of the four transmission system operators (TSOs) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity grid operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. At 50Hertz, more than 1,600 people work to ensure that electricity flows reliably at all times, with low losses and optimised control over long distances. As a TSO, we play a key moderating role in the realisation of the energy transition from a social, technical and economic perspective. Our goal: to safely integrate 100 per cent renewable energy into the grid and system by 2032.

That makes this job interesting for me: Besides the negotiation offerings and awarding of contracts, the Purchasing department of Elia Group is responsible for the management and daily follow-up of its contracts and its suppliers. On the one hand, the Contract and Supplier Managers (CSM) actively manage the client-supplier relationship for the Elia Group´s strategic electrical equipment suppliers. On the other hand, they proactively support the internal stakeholders (mainly the project department) of their category. They represent Elia Group at the supplier and represent the supplier within Elia Group.
My Tasks
- I ensure the proper execution of projects and conformity of the contracts,
- I support the internal stakeholders on suppliers-related topics,
- I lead negotiations and achieve reasonable agreements in case of unforeseen situations or claims,
- I guarantee the continuous improvement of the processes via return of experience,
- I take appropriate actions to ensure the security of our supply,
- Each CSM manages categories of electrical equipment being either High Voltage equipment, Low Voltage equipment or Linear Assets equipment (cables and overhead lines),
- I partake in contract performance management, contract administration & contract change management, and contract risk management.
- Master's degree in a technical-commercial field with real interest for technical aspects and projects or equivalent knowledge acquired with experience,
- Excellent knowledge of German and English (C1),
- Several years of proven experience,
- Experience in stakeholder management, contract management, category management, account management, procurement,
- Charismatic communicator with personal initiative and an appreciation for taking responsibilities,
- A solution-driven, enthusiastic personality,
- Readiness to travel a few times a year to the suppliers' factories in Europe or to our work sites (Substations).
Not a must, but advantageous:
- Knowledge of SAP,
- Knowledge of the energy market,
- Language skills in French, Dutch or Flemish.
