The Position

Are you a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of market access strategies for pharmaceutical products? Do you have a knack for leading teams with a customer-centric approach?


We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Team Lead Market Access in the TA Inflammation to join our diverse and innovative team. In this role, you will have the chance to shape the market access strategy for our major brands within the TA Inflammation.


Your expertise in understanding payers and healthcare systems, generating evidence to demonstrate product value, value-based pricing, and delivering sustainable patient access solutions will be pivotal in this role. You will also develop financial and operational objectives that align with our management goals and priorities.


Together we will prepare the company to launch several ground-breaking inflammation products, and to bring new hope to patients as fast as possible.


  • As a key representative of Market Access, you'll be reporting directly to the Head Global Market Access TA Inflammation. Your voice will be instrumental in cross-functional decisions for our pipeline, ensuring that payer needs are always considered.
  • You'll be entrusted with the responsibility of shaping pricing, market access and early commercial strategies. Your innovative approach will optimize the development plans and value packages, ensuring maximum value for our customers and optimal patient access.
  • In this function, you'll generate evidence that secures optimal market and commercial access, successful HTA assessments, optimal pricing, reimbursement and formulary listing for Boehringer Ingelheim products on a global scale.
  • Additionally, you ensure insights to further inform development of the early and core Target Product Profile (TPP), clinical development plan of our pipeline compounds.
  • In consideration of regulatory body request and trial development, pre and post launch you will ensure relevant PICOs, new patient-reported outcome (PRO) & or CoA measurement strategies are captured to ensure that the patient perspective is captured in our clinical trial program so also interacts with regulatory authorities, closely collaborating with other functions.
  • You'll guide the development of optimized early value and access strategy assessments, early evidence and gap analysis, including multi-indication strategies. Your expertise will ensure we remain competitive and profitable in a dynamic market.
  • Besides, you'll ensure efficient and timely development of key HEOR deliverables (i.e. payer value stories, payer engagement tools, GVDs, economic models, retrospective database analyses, indirect comparisons, real world evidence data) for assigned BI products.
  • Finally, yet importantly, you'll develop and maintain relevant partnerships with payers, academic research institutions, contract research organizations and other HEOR thought leaders in order to optimize the impact of HEOR & PRO research.
  • Last but not least, you'll lead, manage, and develop the early Value and access strategies and implementation of plans within the TA Inflammation. Your leadership will ensure that the market access needs of global market archetypes are appropriately reflected in our development programs, potential risks are assessed, and mitigation plans are in place.

  • Advanced education (Master, PhD) preferably in Science or Medicine, ideally with a focus on Business Administration, Economics, Natural Sciences, Health Economics, Public Health, or related disciplines
  • Proven expertise in leading strategic work in Market Access, Health Economics, or Pricing for innovative pharmaceutical products
  • Demonstrated experience in working at an international level, showcasing your ability to navigate and influence in a complex, global environment
  • Understanding impact of IRA and JCA on economic and value models
  • Background in immunology and or oncology preferred
  • Mature leadership skills, honed through previous leadership roles, demonstrating your ability to inspire and guide teams
  • Highly motivated team player with a proactive attitude, ready to take on challenges and drive results
  • Proficiency in English is a must, while German language skills would be a valuable asset
