  • you will contribute during the early development phase to prepare flow architectures for vacuum systems and components considering performance, timing and costs

  • you will develop and validate models and methods for flow simulations (Lattice Boltzmann Methods (LBM) and Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC))

  • your work takes place in close coordination with interdisciplinary teams consisting of internal and external developers, service providers and suppliers

  • an important part of your daily work will be requirements engineering, stakeholder management and the preparation of development documents

  • as part of industrialization, another task is to ensure design verification, manufacturing, and integration capability as well as risk management

  • you will represent your allocated topics to projects and customersThe activity is embedded in a development network consisting of customers, external partners from the high-tech industry and research institutions


  • a very good university degree in aerospace engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics with professional experience in industry and science

  • In-depth knowledge of vacuum system design and molecular flow modeling (LBM, DSMC)

  • experience in the simulation of rarified gas and plasma flows

  • several years of experience in programming and application of DSMC or LBM software

  • an independent and systematic work ethic and excellent organizational and communication skills

  • pleasure in working as part of an interdisciplinary team in a highly dynamic environment

  • very good organization, communication and presentation skills for tasks and work results

  • very good command of written and spoken English and German
