Software is the key enabler for an inspirational customer experience in the Digital Car. CodeCraft is the high-performance state-of-the-art Software development platform for the development of Software for electronic control units (ECUs) in infotainment, autonomous driving and other fields at BMW. Based on a distributed hybrid cloud infrastructure CodeCraft provides high-availability scalable services for Continuous Integration (GitHub, Zuul, Artifactory), agile Project Management (Jira, Confluence) and other functionalities.

What awaits you?

  • Enabling Software development projects to build Software in the cloud cost-efficiently and with high performance is your responsibility.
  • You will ensure cost transparency of cloud operations, identify levers for cost optimization and work together with BMW ECU Software projects and internal colleagues to implement optimization measures.
  • You will act as a trusted advisor for Software development projects for all cloud-related topics and support and guide them in their daily operations.
  • In doing so, you will coordinate the internal stakeholders (e.g.Group IT) and external suppliers contributing to this topic.
  • One key aspect is orchestrating cloud-related activities of the different CodeCraft services.
  • You will be responsible for orchestrating the migration of ECU Software projects from on-prem to public cloud infrastructure.
  • For this, you will plan infrastructure requirements, organize the migration and actively support migration with regard to technical, financial and organizational aspects.

What should you bring along?

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in public cloud infrastructure (particularly AWS) as well as experience with on-prem infrastructure.
  • Profound knowledge in Cloud Operations, particularly with AWS, incl. experience in cost optimization of Software builds (FinOps).
  • Experience in automotive Software development projects and processes incl. continuous integration.
  • Business-fluent German and English.
