To strengthen our team, we are seeking a Head of Brand Community Management (f/m/d). Your Role

  • Strengthen and build the global ZEISS Brand: The purpose of this position is to take the strategic leadership and global responsibility for a successful, active and inspiring ZEISS Brand Community (yet to be build). The ZEISS Brand is one of the three elements of the ZEISS Identity (next to strategy and values). ZEISS has decided to pursue a so called “Branded House” strategy and therefore all brand related efforts and investments focus on just one brand (ZEISS) to continuously strengthen and grow the asset for competitive advantage across all businesses

  • Enable the worldwide ZEISS organization to utilize and leverage the ZEISS Brand: Consistency and coherency in brand deployment across business units, business supporting functions and regions globally is an important success factor for a Branded House strategy within a portfolio company. Therefore, the purpose of this position is to conduct global brand community management across the entire ZEISS Group, by enabling all employees as well as selected external partners to understand and deploy the ZEISS Brand in a coherent and impactful way

  • Seeing beyond for the ZEISS Brand globally: Understand, challenge and adapt the group-wide ZEISS Brand Strategy (which is defined by the Brand Identity and the Brand Management principles documented in the ZEISS Blue Book) in line with the ZEISS Group strategy to the global brand community to secure that ZEISS will remain a leading technology brand and thus the brand is a value driver for the business

  • Lead the Brand Community Management Team: Lead the central-function Brand Community Management team and contribute to the development of the people, team, function, and the all-department (Corporate Brand, Communications and Public Affairs)

  • Create a successful, active and inspiring ZEISS Brand Community: Analyze the present ZEISS brand community and existing enablement activities (e.g. ZEISS Brand Portal, support service) in order to derive and implement a Brand Community strategy fitting the one-brand-strategy in a portfolio company with the overarching goal of strengthening & building the brand

  • Continue leading brand enablement activities: Continue leading existing brand enablement activities such as information provision (e.g. ZEISS Brand Portal), support and accompanying communication to ZEISS employees as well as external partners. Additionally taking responsibility in creating overarching brand communication / experience assets

  • Work process- and data driven: Assume leadership regarding process- and data driven activities in your area of responsibility

  • Contribute to strategic projects: e.g. paying into the mid-term agenda. In addition, you will lead, and drive initiatives and projects initiated by the Corporate Brand, Communications and Public Affairs department.


  • University degree, MBA or similar qualification in strategic branding, marketing, communications, international business or similar

  • At least 10 successful years of job experience in community management, brand management, marketing or communications for a top global brand, or equivalent brand strategy and marketing consulting with a leading consulting firm

  • At least 3 years of (people) leadership experience

  • Great and inspiring leader and team player

  • Experiences in global brand experience design

  • Successful experiences in building, activating and moderating global (brand) communities

  • Familiarity with standard marketing tools and terminology including segmentation, brand portfolio strategy, purchase funnels, brand architecture, value proposition, brand positioning, customer journey, customer touchpoints, quantitative and qualitative market research, etc.

  • Ideally familiarity with interplay of roles in international companies (central functions, business units, sales & service entities)

  • Expertise with leading transformational processes and change management

  • Strong ability to coordinate high amount of interfaces

  • Sharp analytical understanding

  • Strong conceptual thinking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal language skills in English and German
