YOUR MISSION

We wish to expand our team with talented and motivated people to help us develop and commercialize advanced medical products in collaboration with renowned customers.

As Senior Research Scientist in our Computed Tomography group at ImFusion you will work on customer projects, further develop our state of the art visual computing software framework and share your knowledge and experience with the rest of the team and customers. You will have the opportunity to push the edge in various medical applications, and to make substantial contributions to our framework in Python and C++.

This position (full time) is advertised for our Munich office but is also compatible with hybrid or full-time remote.


  • Design and implement complex (scientific) algorithms independently using state-of-the-art techniques
  • Independently perform research for customer and internal projects
  • Perform code reviews and software testing
  • Participate in software architecture design and review
  • Communicate with customers and act as project lead
  • Follow the current developments in the scientific field
  • Notify management if any security relevant findings are made
  • Make suggestions for improvements regarding both code/software and company processes
  • Collaborate efficiently and courteously with other employees and customers
  • Prioritize work within the bounds set by project management
  • Onboard new hires
  • Write scientific papers and reports
  • Supervise work of research scientists

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related field or at least 3+ years industry experience in a relevant domain
  • Strong programming skills in C++, experience with libraries such as Eigen is a plus
  • Experience in parallel programming for the GPU (e.g. OpenGL and CUDA)
  • Knowledge of tomographic reconstruction, inverse problems and optimization
  • Able to conduct applied research independently
  • Reliable Team player and quick learner
  • Proficient in English
