Your tasks
- Through your work, you will make a long-term contribution to the sustainability and digitalization of the paper industry - Voith Paper's most important future topics!
- You will deal with various strategies inside and outside commercial software for solving complex equation systems.
- You will work on the development of a solution strategy for the coupling and orchestration of individual models for the papermaking process.
- You will also implement mathematical functions and algorithms, e.g. for continuous calibration and validation of the models.
- You will develop evaluation criteria to assess efficiency and stability and systematically compare the solutions you have developed.
- The documentation and communication of your results as well as the recommendations for further investigation and development steps round off your area of responsibility.
Your profile
- You are a matriculated student of computer science or alternatively an engineering or natural science with a focus of interest in modeling, programming, numerical solution strategies, control engineering and simulation.
- You have initial experience in modeling physical systems and have already acquired a basic understanding of physical processes (e.g. thermodynamics).
- You have very good programming skills in Python; other programming languages such as Modellica or C++ are desirable.
- A good command of written and spoken English is a prerequisite; knowledge of German is an advantage.
- Personally, you will impress with your proactive, conscientious working style and your enjoyment of developing and implementing creative solutions.
