Our Risk Management team in Düsseldorf is looking for you!

The Risk Structuring team monitors and controls strategic risks for the group arising from Uniper's corporate strategy. The role requires the individual to lead 4 direct reports and coordinate an overall cross-functional team. The Head of Risk Structuring reports to the Market Risk director. The position is based in Düsseldorf, Germany.

  • Lead the Düsseldorf-based team of risk structuring managers, coordinate a cross-functional team across all risk management functions, to steer the risk appraisal process (front-to-end)
  • Focus on the most consequential and significant risks to shareholder value, linking capital allocation and budgeting decisions to identified risk capital needs
  • Facilitate the understanding and modelling of long-term strategic risks across the portfolio to gain an adequate quantification of the risk capital requirements and associated costs for the implementation of corporate strategies, advising on maximization of reward/risk profiles
  • Accompany the investment appraisal process, by consulting with key decision makers and project managers on financial/strategic decisions, gaining relevant information to perform risk evaluation, enabling a risk-informed investment decision
  • Identify, measure, report and manage key risk indicators for long-term group exposure
  • Proactively manage portfolio complexities and non-linear risks associated with expanding the renewables business and integrating flexibility products, ensuring informed decision-making during portfolio construction
  • Communicate effectively across various committees and actively advise on relevant decision making within Uniper's Risk management community and other governance bodies

  • University degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, or related field
  • 7+ years' experience in risk/asset management or trading within an investment bank or energy trading company
  • Proven expertise in quantitative risk methodologies, stress testing, and risk framework development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate in cross-functional teams and manage projects
  • Strong team player with experience of working in an international and multicultural team, with the ability to cultivate strong positive working relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills across various hierarchical levels in the organization
  • Strong problem-solving, creative mindset and analytical skills
  • Risk or financial certifications (e.g. MBA, FRM, CFA, …) are highly considered
