Amazon Transportation Services is looking for a Operations Performance Excellence Manager to own the operational execution of strategic, tactical, cross-functional and technology projects within Amazon Freight Program (AFP) in Europe. The role represents a critical function within AFP Operations with a key responsibility of overseeing gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes while ensuring the AFP program continuously improves service levels, capacities, and cost to serve within EU Surface Transportation network.
The AFP Operations Excellence Manager, focusses on developing mechanisms which drive best in class operational performance across AFP program and operations within the wider Relay Supply and Performance (RSP) teams in Europe. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive level presentation skills are essential.
The ideal candidate has a track record of success in project and stakeholder management, is highly organized with strong attention to detail, analytical, resourceful and customer focused. You are a ‘hands on' person with a high level of autonomy who is not afraid to drive results from the front and earn trust with multiple stakeholder teams across Europe. You should have good commercial acumen and vendor management experience. The role will involve travel across the EU.
The role could also be based out of Barcelona or Munich.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
  • Partner with process owners and stakeholders to scope opportunities for improvements, define problem statements and objectives of planned changes in either program policies or product offering to ensure alignment with AFP program Tenets and wider business strategy.
  • Be the SME for operational excellence and provide insights and guidance to country business coach leads to ensure operational execution and program performance remains in line with program policies.
  • Deep dive and drive action plans across stakeholders to drive improvements across performance metrics.
  • Be the SME for operational Partner impact analysis and provide insights to program/product management teams to ensuring all products match regional requirements.
  • Work with AFP Business Coaches, program managers, business leaders and executive teams to communicate the impact of critical business changes and program initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and govern KPIs for reporting on program changes which provide visibility to leadership on the performance of such projects and progress of milestones.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholder partners, among planning teams, program Teams, execution teams, and finance teams to ensure trusting working relationships.
  • Engage with wider Amazon Freight Partner program leaderships globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon Transportation and Amazon Freight Partners.
  • Partner with customers, internal/external teams, and engineering teams to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order.
  • Make key decisions and/or recommendations concerning operational or external escalations as needed.
  • Partner with teams across Amazon Surface Transportation and beyond to source, allocate, and coordinate resources to deliver on program goals.
  • Act as the single point of contact for regional program and business teams on the AFP Operations in Europe, especially around standardisation and change management driving parity.
  • Earn trust across multiple internal Amazon teams (finance, legal, corporate development, operations and tech) to achieve your goals.
