About us
Our Business Advanced Optics is a valuable partner for developing products and customized solutions for applications in optics, astronomy, opto-electronics, augmented reality, life sciences, and research. With a portfolio of over 120 optical materials with a broad range of processing capabilities, we master the value chain, from development to finishing and metrology. We are seeking a globally minded leader for this Business Unit, reporting directly to the Management Board. The position will be based in our headquarters in Mainz.
Your Contribution
- Responsible for the strategic leadership of the Business Unit with more than 1,700 employees across 5 productions plants and sales units in all major regions
- Further secure long-term growth and profitability in cutting edge technologies and markets (e.g. Augmented Reality; Semiconductor)
- Strategic and operational profit and loss responsibility for all production sites and regions
- Responsibility for the further development and growth of our optical materials and components technology platforms
- Steering of the highly technical and diversified product and process portfolio
- Lead, mentor and develop a senior management leadership team, fostering a culture of global and cross-functional collaboration, high performance and personal growth
Your Profile
- Degree in Engineering or technical related field, ideally in combination with MBA
- Minimum 8 years of successful P&L responsibility in relevant markets & industries
- Successful track record in the strategic management of large, multifunctional organizational units
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong result-orientation
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build and steer high performing international teams
- Profound analytical skills and a tech-savvy, customer-oriented mindset to transform innovative ideas into business opportunities
