With a fleet of 264 modern container ships and a total transport capacity of 2.0 million TEU, Hapag-Lloyd is one of the world's leading liner shipping companies. In the Liner Shipping segment, the Company has around 13,500 employees and 400 offices in 135 countries. Hapag-Lloyd has a container capacity of 2.9 million TEU – including one of the largest and most modern fleets of reefer containers. A total of 113 liner services worldwide ensure fast and reliable connections between more than 600 ports across the world. In the Terminal & Infrastructure segment, Hapag-Lloyd has stakes in 20 terminals in Europe, Latin America, the United States, India, and North Africa. The roughly 2,600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment handle terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.


As part of our Data Capabilities & Governance Team, you will support us in delivering enablement initiatives which allow colleagues worldwide to acquire essential data and analytics skills and enhance our portfolio of rules and tools how to access, guide and govern a smart use of our data.

Your tasks:

  • Contribute to the further development of our Collibra based “Data-Wikipedia” by building data pipelines to add new data sources to our Data Catalog or setting up new features in Collibra
  • Develop engaging learning materials on data science, visualization, analytics, and data governance, including internal articles, video tutorials, presentations, and best practices guides
  • Take over responsibility for implementing engaging data-related events and enablement initiatives
  • Review and suggest improvements for our Data Quality and Data Governance practices, create Data Governance metrics (data quality, tool usage …) and develop corresponding reports
  • Create and maintain content for our Data & Analytics Hub and foster and strengthen Data & Analytics Community engagement

  • You are currently completing a full-time course of study in (business) informatics, data science, economics, mathematics or a comparable subject area
  • Basic understanding of databases and data structures: you are familiar with concepts like tables, columns, and relationships
  • You also have curiosity and eagerness to learn and adapt Data Governance practices, metadata management, and related topics
  • Comfort with technology: Proficiency in using tools like Python, SQL, collibra or visualization platforms (QlikSense, power BI, …) is a plus
  • You enjoy creating visually appealing and informative enablement materials and like to teach and empower others on Data Science and Analytics topics
  • You excel at managing projects and tasks on your own, keeping things organized and bringing new ideas to the table
  • Strong interpersonal and very good communication skills in English (written and spoken) and preferably German round up your profile
  • In addition, practical experience gained through internships or working student positions in a relevant field is a plus
