About MACVAD:

MACVAD is an international company with offices in Australia, Canada, USA, UK, China and South Africa and New Zealand. One of the products we distribute is Bug-A-Salt. It's a unique, fun product that we're selling successfully to major retailers in over 30 countries. Europe is our next growth market.


About the role:

Our business is growing fast and we need an Account Manager based in Germany to develop the Bug-A-Salt market in Europe. We're established with smaller retailers in Europe and we want to build on this success.

This is a permanent position reporting to New Zealand and work from an office in the Ruhrgebiet. Initially this will be a sole charge role (with support from NZ) but we will grow the team in Germany to support our European customers. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Manage trade fairs
  • Manage key accounts with European retailers
  • Business development throughout Europe
  • You will spend around 60% of your time working from the office and 40% travelling
  • Liaise with the team in NZ, including regular phone calls with your manager and the sales support team (you will need to work some evenings).

We need a self-motivated person who is comfortable working autonomously and who is driven to get results. We're looking for:

  • A confident, outgoing personal style.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience selling directly to retailer customers
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and German
  • Strong results-focus and willing to do anything to support customers
  • Experience at trade fairs
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
