Within the Metabolism team of our Consumer Safety group you will establish an in vitro metabolism screening platform for metabolite identification (Met ID) to be implemented in early phase research projects of plant protection products.

  • In your new role, you are responsible for the development, planning and conducting of alternative in vitro systems for evaluating compound stability, its metabolization and Met ID using radiolabeled and non-labeled compounds and analysis via HPLC.
  • In addition, you prepare summary reports and presentations to be shown and discussed to internal and external collaborators for supporting implementation or changes in projects strategies.
  • You get the chance to work in an international and multi-cultural team, with the possibility to work with experts in environmental science and metabolism.
  • Last but not least, you test and drive new approaches and methodologies to continuously increase efficiency and predictivity for supporting research projects.

  • successfully completed PhD in biology, toxicology, pharmacy, biochemistry, veterinarian sciences, natural science, or related fields, ideally along with previous experience in an industrial environment
  • proven experience in alternative in vitro cell culture experimental design, plant and mammalian cell systems as well as hepatocyte cell culture is a plus
  • experience with high throughput screening cultures, 3D or multiple compartment cell culture (e.g. OOC) systems is an advantage
  • practical knowledge in chromatographic technologies (HPLC-radio detection, UPLC-MS, TLC, etc)
  • expertise on xenobiotic metabolism, metabolomics and in product safety as well as experience with radiolabeled test compounds (14C) and radio safety are advantageous
  • team player with entrepreneurial thinking and excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus
