We are seeking passionate and talented students who want to achieve impact by shaping next-generation products at ZEISS. Integrated in a team of scientists, students, and research engineers, you will work (for at least 6 months) on building a prototype for a novel device that allows to effortlessly control a complex robotic system. You will combine mechanical design, electronics, and programming. Your work will build a part of an innovative system that leverages tomorrow's technologies.

  • You are enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanics / Electronics / Robotics or similar

  • You have strong experiences with mechanical design (using tools such as Fusion 360 or SolidWorks)

  • You have good knowledge in electronics and wiring

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or C++

  • Experience with ROS / ROS2 is a plus

  • Experience with computer vision is a plus

  • You are interested in technology and motivated to work on challenging tasks

  • You are ready to explore with a high degree of initiative and creativity and have a maker mindset

  • You are eager to learn, well organized, detail oriented

  • You are willing to collaborate and work in complementary teams

  • Good communication skills in English
