About the team
The chapter Technology & Engineering - Data & AI Engineering represents all experts who deliver data and AI engineering capabilities to our product teams. These experts are organized together to enhance those functional skillsets, improve E.ON's MLOps & AIOps tech stack and deliver a high level of data delivery & model automation.
The E.ON Data House (EDH) is a central management platform for data from the various parts of the entire Group. Data governance and data protection are an integral part of the Data House and ensure that both data producers and data consumers can work in a secure environment. In terms of technology, the E.ON Data House relies on a scalable and fail-safe cloud environment. State-of-the-art Microsoft Azure and Azure Databricks solutions are used to achieve maximum efficiency and quality. The aim of the platform is to fully automate all necessary processes in both the development and operation of the Data House.
meaningful & challenging - Your tasks
- Designing and documenting the overall solution architecture for Central Data Lake, as well as concepts to integrate with 3rd party APIs of internal and external partners
- Explore new features/ tools in the market and leverage those to the requirements of the product
- Collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation, providing technical guidance as well as support to development and maintenance teams
- Developing and maintaining architectural standards and best practices to achieve overall quality of the platform and avoid technical debt.
- Ensuring that the solution meets performance, scalability, compliance and security requirements
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues related to the solution
- Participating in the continuous improvement of the solution and its components
authentic & ambitious - Your profile
- University degree in Information Technology or equivalent, as well as everal years of experience in data engineering in context of data lakes in an agile environment
- Fundamental understanding and experience in working with data warehouse, data lake architecture, modern data architectures including data modeling and dimensional modeling
- Proven development skills e.g. in multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g. Python, PySpark, SQL), especially in the context of data pipelines
- Very Good understanding of cloud native monitoring stacks, data & analytics, storage technologies (e.g. Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Delta Tables, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Unity Catalogue, Azure Functions, PowerBI/ Tableau)
- Fundamental understanding of observability such as logging, metrics, and alerting, as well as IT infrastructure, networking, and security architectures
- Fundamental knowledge of event and stream processing systems (Apache Kafka, Kafka Connect)
- You are a strong team player (m/f/d) with the ability to work with diverse groups of people in a productive and agile manner using fluent written and spoken English
