Our department leads the development of BMW's current and next generation Software Platform for automated driving. We are responsible for the base system including operating system, middleware, and system functions on top of which all autonomous driving functionality is built upon.

What awaits you?

  • You will work within the project management group for the platform software.
  • Coordinating, planning, steering, monitoring, and aligning project topics and the project processes with all partners is the main area of your responsibility.
  • You support in doing change management, you coordinate the time planning with cross-departmental partners and align the plan in exchange with architects and area leads.
  • You will maintain the overview of the project goals and make the status transparent for the project (in terms of time, resource, and quality plans as well as budget conditions).
  • You are responsible for doing roadmap and planning workshops and maintain the overall project plan.
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for the cross-domain communication of current project topics and ensure transparency by identifying weak points and their causes, solving problems in the individual development area, and proactively initiating necessary measures for improvement.
  • You are developing and visualize the project key performance indicators from all areas, evaluate them, derive actions, and escalate if necessary.
  • You are supporting the development of tools, processes, and methods to improve the steering of Software Platform projects in the direction to a data driven Company.

What should you bring along?

  • University degree in computer science, business informatics, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, software development in the automotive field or a comparable qualification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in leading Software projects.
  • Professional experience in agile and classic Software development processes required, furthermore experience in organizing distributed software development projects in the automotive environment as well as experience in embedded software development.
  • Knowledge in the use of JIRA, Confluence, PowerBI and databases desirable.
  • You enjoy continuous improvement of processes and interdisciplinary collaborations with different stakeholders.
  • Business-fluent German and English.
