Unit description

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.
TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. We are looking for a passionate Sub Project Lead - Cable Installation Nearshore (m/w/d) at our location Hannover who will contribute to this. That might be you?

Frame conditions

  • Desire start date: as soon as possible
  • The weekly working time is 37 hours
  • The position is unlimited
  • Job interviews for this position will be (partly) in English

You work within an offshore grid connection project and are responsible for the installation of cables in tidal areas until the 10m waterline. Together with your colleagues, you manage the project end-to-end, incl. permit, detailed planning, handover to operations.
  • You are in charge of delivering the designed technical scope in accordance with all relevant TenneT and contractual obligations as well as other requirements (permit, safety, legal, technical, work plan, etc.)
  • You review relevant procedures, workplans and output; you monitor the EPC contractors regarding the fulfilment of their contractual obligations, esp. high-quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • You steer the work and collaboration of TenneT subcontractors, e.g., Client Reps, environmental and other experts
  • You supervise the work on site and ensure that all documentations are delivered according to TenneT standards
  • You report to the project on the work of the EPC contractors, esp. progress, change

  • An academic level of working and thinking; a university degree (FH/H) in civil/mechanical engineering or comparable qualifications
  • Work experience in offshore cable installation, preferably regarding tidal areas; experience in managing contractors
  • Good written and spoken language skills in German and English (both necessary) as communication with German authorities and international partners is one of the main tasks
  • A high level of independence and initiative; strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel and to work on construction sites (coastal area) during building activities is important, therefore also a driver's license (class B) is needed
