We are looking for a dynamic

Senior Group Financial Specialist/Accounting Expert

with a focus on our German-speaking companies (Germany, Switzerland, Austria), currently 9 in total. We have a very ambitious M&A agenda and expect to add 3-5 companies per year. In the beginning the jobholder will be part of our Portfolio Finance Team in Denmark where the resources will be trained and coached to integrate the position into the German Group at a later stage. Therefore, we prospect a German national, preferably homebased in the Rhine-Main-Area. This position is right for you, if you are hands-on, strong in accounting, well-structured and results-oriented, with a high level of energy, high attention to detail, and to the point communication.


  • You have overall responsibility for Finance & Accounting in the area assigned to you and cooperate closely with the local Finance teams as well as local leadership.
  • As an IFRS expert you make sure that all activities performed are compliant with both IFRS and statutory requirements, hereunder overseeing IFRS16 setup, review and submissions. You train and coach finance teams within the group companies to ensure that they are equipped to follow financial reporting standards.
  • You devise, implement and maintain accounting procedures in accordance with policies and act as an advisor to the group of companies to improve efficiencies related to their internal processes and to apply best practices.
  • You are responsible for corporate governance and risk control management ensuring that the Risk Control Matrix and Approval Matrix within the group are adhered to. You manage all internal and support all external audits within the groups, through to sign-off and taking corrective actions.

  • Based on a Finance degree or a similar education, you have a professional accounting qualification with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications under IFRS and HGB and experience in preparing and reviewing tax calculations.
  • Your work experience qualifies you as an accepted partner of the business in your area of responsibility. You communicate effectively (verbal and presentation) with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels and are fluent with both, German and English. Experience in an international/global business, handling multiple stakeholders is an asset.
  • With a hands-on mindset you are well-versed in preparing and reviewing tax calculations and reconciliations, posting journals and preparing working papers. You are an experienced Excel user.
  • You are used to keeping a lot of balls in the air and feel comfortable in a specialist role. Although you are not a disciplinary leader, you manage to drive your topics forward with the right mix of service-orientation and assertiveness.
  • You fit in well with us if you are humble as well as curious and able to investigate and learn new domains and technologies. The desire to improve processes and systems rather than just keeping the status quo is a strong driver for your success.
