As our Head of Compensation and Benefits you will be reporting to the Human Resources Director for Germany and Cluster DACH. This exciting opportunity will come with the responsibility of managing and driving compensation and benefits agenda in Germany in line with global Imperial Brands compensation and benefits guidelines.

Pension Plans and Early Retirements

  • Responsible for annual financial reports according to German-GAAP and IFRS. Coordination and instruction of different local actuaries, ensuring correctness of provisions in time, close cooperation with Finance, local as well as global actuaries and auditors. Compliance with tax and labour law as well as with relevant reporting standards.
  • Status information for employees about individual pension entitlements
  • Pension rights adjustments
  • Employee consultation in all aspects of retirement benefits including state pension scheme
  • Deferred Compensation Scheme
  • Hamburger Pensionskasse (HPK)
  • Direct Insurance

Tariff Policy

  • Supporting the P&C Director Germany in tariff strategy / policy
  • Codetermination with works council and trade union

Social Plans / Termination Agreements

  • Responsible for correctness of all costs and provision (considering IFRS, German GAAP and Tax law)
  • Preparation of discussion papers for redundancies/early retirements
  • Ensure compliance and correctness of termination agreements

Share Schemes

  • Sharesave, Share Matching Scheme, LTIP (invitation, maturity, taxation)
  • Consulting of employees
  • Cooperation with different Providers (Computershare, Equiniti)
  • Annual Share Status Statements to ensure tax compliance

Payroll & P&C Operations

  • Leading the Payroll Manager who is leading the payroll teams in Hamburg and Langenhagen as well as the P&C Operations Team Lead

Compensation

  • Design local plans such as IMPIS, reward scheme for tariff employees / spot bonus payments etc.
  • Steet annual review process for tariff employees

  • Significant actuarial experience and skills
  • People management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as strong negotiation, influencing and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to learn quickly, acquire new skills and solve problems with a solution-orientated approach
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong IT skills (e.g. MS Office) plus the ability to learn new IT systems /outstanding Excel skills
  • Fluency in German and English (both written and verbal)
