As an interface to Product Management, Operations and IT, the area Business Process Management is responsible for the global processes of Hellmann. This includes the design, implementation and continuous improvement of business processes in terms of standardization, sustainability, automation and digitalization.

We are looking for a Regional BPM (m/f/d) with focus on process design and implementation, training and developing strategies to achieve productivity gains. You will gain valuable working experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment across the European continent.

» Key Objectives

  • Improve EBIT Conversion by:
  • Enabling unit cost reduction through reducing cycle times, reducing Opex, centralizing processes to reap economies scale and to reduce overall labor cost
  • Driving process standardization and quality
  • Driving the development of tools and IT applications that effectively support the Seafreight Operational Blueprint
  • Maintaining relevant skills in Seafreight operations through training
  • Support developing the Country BPMs
  • Project specific objectives as required (eg. Cargowise roll-out, Operational Service Center implementation..) including contribution to corporate initiatives

» Key Responsibilities:

Management & Leadership:

  • Translation of global strategy and priorities into a regional strategy and priorities and following up on execution of the same in alignment with the regional BPM lead
  • Support the country BPMs through coaching

Process & Design:

  • Focus on how value is added for customers, eliminate waste and non-value adding activities. Balance productivity and control over profitability
  • Seek opportunities to improve productivity and GP control across the Seafreight commercial and operational functions (incl. supervisor level)
  • Closely work with the countries to identify requirements and opportunities
  • Closely work with Corporate and other Regions to advise, align and prioritize
  • Drive implementation activities into countries
  • Promote and support a culture and discipline of Continuous Improvement
  • Coach and support Country Seafreight BPMs as required
  • Establish and enforce standards that drive quality, eliminate rework, and enable the industrialization of processes
  • Work closely with the Global BPM Team to define and improve process standards that enable quality, efficiency and economies of scale as well as compliance with global and local regulations relevant for Airfreight / Seafreight operations
  • Work with Country Head of Airfreight/Seafreight Freight and Country BPMs to drive implementation of process standards
  • Address / escalate sustained deficiencies with Country Head Airfreight / Seafreight, Regional Head Airfreight / Seafreight and Global Airfreight / Seafreight BPM

Training & Support:

  • Establish a culture of best practice sharing, on-going learning and constructively challenging the status quo. Leverage and promote Continuous
  • Improvement mindset and supporting methods. Provide the methods and materials to deliver consistent and current training to operations
  • Work with HR and other functions to align and coordinate maintenance and development of Seafreight training library and associated tools
    Support establishing methods and tools for regularly assessing skill gaps and action to address same within Seafreight Operations
  • Carry out Training Needs Analysis and communicate regional training requirements to the regional BPM lead
  • Actively contribute to knowledge and best practice sharing across the global BPM Team
  • Contribute to creation and maintenance of Seafreight training material
  • Contribute to establish and maintain the structure to channel support needs from the end-users in a most efficient way to deliver timeliness solutions within the region

Optimization & Service Centralization:

  • Use smart and innovative IT solutions to automate manual processes, drive integration with Business Partners (internal and external) to eliminate redundant processing and drive data quality at the source
  • Establish the methods and tools to monitor adherence to standards and process quality across countries within the Region
  • Work with other Region's Seafreight BPMs to advise and support development / maintenance of integration roadmaps in alignment with regional BPM lead
  • Drive implementation into the countries
  • Coach and support Country Seafreight BPMs as required
  • Re-think how to organize your own environment to deliver your own services from the Team to regional and global level. Drive economy of scale and economies of skills, sourcing activities at the right level and the right cost
  • Work with the Regional BPM Head Seafreight to drive implementation of the Target Operating Model the Region
  • Closely work with Regional Management to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve EBIT conversion through organizational restructuring, in line with Seafreight Target Operating Model
  • Identify regional processes and tasks to be transferred into shared service centers, by applying the global concept.

» Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of the global seafreight forwarding industry with on hand operational experience
  • Experience with the implementation of a TMS is a plus
  • Ability to professionally explain and train business processes, system use and organizational changes
  • Ability to work in a project and team environment across different assignments and cultures
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken)
  • Flexibility towards traveling and stays abroad
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical and investigative thinking, strong self-confidence and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to effectively deal with all levels of employees
  • Empathy skills: ability to place yourself in the shoes of the audience
  • Additional knowledge in other European languages is a plus
