About the team

At E.ON, data capabilities are split into two pillars: "data as an asset to innovation" and "data usages as i.e. AI and data analytics". Both capabilities are organized in separate units.

You, as a Data & AI Governance, Policies & Standards Expert (f/m/d), will focus on the pillar "data as an asset to innovation" and design and roll-out data governance and management capabilities across multiple digital technologies, platforms, and business units that support the implementation of data strategy.
In your role, you will be part of the central Data Architecture & Governance team. In this function, you will be in close collaboration with (top) management and our key stakeholders on the central level such as e.g. Digital Strategy, Data Protection, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, as well as at business unit level across Europe. Furthermore, you will be supporting multiple business units of the E.ON Group along their Data Governance and data strategy journey.

  • Content development of the data- & AI-relevant policies and standards for data & AI governance and management across the group, implementation as well as further developing the central Data & AI Governance Framework
  • Aggregating information to the Management level and obtaining formal buy-in and approvals from various stakeholders
  • Supporting the build-up, run and operation of new data governance organizations and corresponding processes, like developing processes and establishing bodies for decision-making and data-issues escalations
  • Aligning topics with formal Governance bodies such as Data Governance Circle and Council and coordinating the policy setting, implementation, and adoption process
  • Leading the definition, alignment, and operationalization of sub-strategies for the data management & governance
  • Collecting industry-wide trends on how data is leveraged for competitive advantage and identify data-driven innovation opportunities
  • Contributing to the definition of the Digital, Data and Technology learning agendas and supporting the development of data strategy relevant content for training and communication


authentic & ambitious - Your profile

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Economics, Digital Business, Business Administration, Computer Science, Governmental Regulations, Information Management or equivalent
  • Multiple years of experience in data governance and management functions with a focus on policies and standards
  • Great understanding of the data-management, -governance, -strategy & -architecture disciplines, as well as its combinations
  • Proven track of record in operationalization of data-driven or digital strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement and system design
  • Good understanding of digital services and platforms and their impact on data opportunities and risks, as well as relevant trends
  • Ability to transform data-related principles into formalized policies
  • Solid consulting, facilitation and communication skills in both business and technology, including the ability to simplify complex data concepts and distill them into core insights, ideas, and recommendations towards management levels and across different cultures and countries.
