At our facility in Cologne, our expertise is in the development, production and distribution of high-quality linear fiber optic sensing systems for distributed temperature and acoustic measurement and structural monitoring. We provide to our Customers solutions that can save human lives by detecting incoming fires in tunnels, buildings and industrial environments; solutions allowing safe and optimal usage of power cables circuits, industrial reactors, induction furnaces and many others assets, by constantly monitoring thermal and mechanical stress; solutions alerting to incoming damages related to third parties or to natural events.
Thanks to our in-house developed laser-based hardware and software, the self-constructed fiber optic cables that serve as distributed sensors and our high technical know-how, we can offer customers an optimally suited product to their application at any time.
To strengthen our ambitious team at our location in Cologne Mülheim we are looking for a Senior Accountant (f/m/d) to start as soon as possible.
- Preparation and responsibility for the monthly general ledger posting and reconciliations, including but not limited to work-in-progress, prepayments, accruals and taxes
- Preparation and responsibility for the year-end financial reporting package in accordance with local GAAP and assist for the US GAAP
- Responsibility and management of document requests and handling the entries/recons for tax accounts
- Assistance in annual statutory audit preparation, including liaising with external auditors to provide information and to respond to audit queries
- Preparation and reviewing the month-end balance sheet and the profit and loss accounts
- Preparation and responsibility for the bank reconciliations including, but not limited to credit cards, bank posting and clearing
- Assisting with initial internal control evaluations and SOX requirements
- Responsibility for cash flow management and reporting, including preparation and monitoring of the weekly cash flow position and the timely notification of Corporate Treasury for all intercompany outgoing payments, involvement in the collection process and liaison with the respective project managers for overdue invoices etc
- Responsibility for intercompany receivables and payables, i.e. their review, posting, ageing and collection
- Supporting the Head of Finance in the preparation of annual and monthly budget and forecast reports
- Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Accounting, Business administration or similar
- 5-7+ years of accounting-related work experience
- Fluent in German and English
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Good knowledge of US GAAP is a plus
- Experience with ABAS is a plus
- High level of attention to detail, aptitude for managing deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a hands-on-mentality
