Senior Build System Expert (Yocto) (f/m/x)
BMW vehicles consist of various embedded Linux ECUs, most of which are developed and integrated in-house. As a Senior Build System Expert, you will play a crucial role in our software integration process, focusing on improvements and optimizations of our Yocto platform software build systems. If you have a deep understanding of Yocto and a passion for software build systems, join our team and contribute to shaping the future of automotive technology.
What awaits you?
- Design and optimize the Yocto platform software build for integrating software into BMW's embedded Linux ECUs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement efficient software build processes that meet the highest quality standards.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges related to software build systems (such as reproducibility or caching) and ensure smooth integration of software components.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to the development teams on best practices for software delivery.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in software build systems, with a focus on Yocto and Android Build System.
- Contribute back improvements and features to the open source Yocto project.
What should you bring along?
- University degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification.
- Profound experience with Linux build systems.
- Solid understanding of software development process and life-cycle with focus on Continuous Integration (CI).
- Proficiency in Yocto.
- Knowledge of the Android Build systems is a plus.
- A joy for everything software, a passion for working with others to tackle problems and develop software solutions.
- Business-fluent English.
