POLITICO is looking for an experienced German-language reporter to anchor a daily briefing on EU politics.
The newly launched Brussels Decoded – Das Europa Briefing provides in-depth insights into the dynamics of policy decisions and events at the European level and their impact on German politics.
Working collaboratively with editors and reporters in Brussels and Berlin, you will frame and narrate the EU story for a powerful audience of subscribers in Berlin, drawing on the deep expertise of POLITICO's newsroom around Europe.
This role would suit a versatile journalist and a team player who knows how the EU works, has strong writing and editing skills and has the drive to help build a new venture.

- Write a daily briefing on the EU for subscribers in Berlin; including breaking news on topics of relevance for readers; and working with reporters in Brussels and beyond to compile and frame relevant reporting for a new audience.
- Near native German (C2) and fluent English
- 7+ years of newsroom experience, with some editing experience a strong plus
- Proven ability to deliver under pressure and on deadline
- Willingness to work flexibly
- A deep understanding of the EU and European politics.
