Director International Network Operations (f/m/d)

At GLS International, we are responsible for the establishment, support, and further development of the international GLS network.
As the Director of International Network Operations, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our global logistics operations.

Your responsibilities can be assigned to the following three areas:

Linehaul Management:
  • Expansion and continuous optimization of our international long-distance transports as well as the coordination and management of seasonal European long-distance transports and parcel streams
  • Daily management of linehaul performance as well as strategic development of linehaul operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Planning / adjusting of peak séance capacity and reporting of market development.
  • Your team is also responsible for the settlement of international long-distance transport costs in cooperation with Controlling
  • Organization of air freight traffic to and from the Frankfurt air hub under cost and quality aspects in coordination with relevant partners
Quality Assurance:
  • Intensive Quality Assurance by frequent auditing and monitoring of all GLS Network and identifying weak points, supporting improving measures, and driving overall service level enhancement and operational cost savings
  • Managing relationships with partners to maintain high-quality service delivery and reporting for various requests
Operational Excellence:
  • Frequently review operational performance and mapping of current and future operational processes
  • Implementation of new services
  • Adjusting and optimizing processes according to feedback from quality departments.
  • Responsibility of Group SOP and Operational manuals

  • As a basis, you have a successfully completed degree, e.g. business administration, Logistics or a comparable successfully completed vocational training with appropriate further training
  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable position, ideally in the CEP sector
  • Business fluent in English and German. Further language skills are an advantage
  • Strong IT affinity to leverage technology for operational enhancements
  • Curiosity and innovative spirit driven process improvements
  • Assertive and resilient attitude to overcome challenges in a dynamic environment
