Bavarian Nordic, one of the largest pure-play vaccine companies, is on an exciting growth journey across the commercial portfolio. We are building a Global Supply Chain and Strategy organization and are seeking a

Global Operations Product Lead (m/f/d) for our Chikungunya vaccine.

This senior role will be accountable for end-to-end product supply chain leadership across Global Operations through the product lifecycle: launch (in 2025), followed by growth, maturity phase, and beyond.

The role will lead and manage a cross-functional operations product matrix team responsible for product supply strategy, planning, and performance management, and represent Global Operations on commercial product teams. The role reports to the VP Head of Global Supply Chain and Strategy and will be part of the Global Supply Chain & Strategy leadership team.

The role can be located in Martinsried near Munique, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark or the USA.

  • Design and lead implementation of end-to-end supply chains through a product lifecycle (launch, growth, maturity, and decline). Lead Global Operations Chikungunya launch team and represent operations at the global product launch team
  • Drive long-term/strategic product planning (3 years and beyond) through probabilistic forecasts, ensuring an enterprise strategy connecting product and network strategy
  • Set up, lead, and manage cross-functional Global Operations product teams on the above and represent Global Operations on commercial product teams
  • Ensure establishment and execution of product supply and inventory strategy, setting global inventory policy aligned with corporate working capital targets
  • Ensure that an end-to-end optimized product supply plan is in place across all assets (internal and external) over the 36-month planning horizon from bulk manufacturing through to point of sale
  • Drive resolution of anticipated product supply risks/issues leveraging the S&OP process
  • Lead move of key product programs from strategy into execution including network and sourcing changes. Leverage the long-range forecast to drive robust planning for the manufacturing network
  • Drive product performance management, ensuring adherence to lead time and inventory targets
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and regional supply chain leadership to improve the product supply chain and have a direct impact on service, cost, sustainability, and cash targets

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated global operations product leadership experience with vaccine launch and growth. They should have the ability to set vision/strategy and lead/build high-performing cross-functional teams through growth and change while delivering tangible business results. The candidate should excel in leading by influencing, engaging, and partnering with other functions to align priorities, solve business challenges, and drive continuous improvement. A strong grasp of business and financial acumen is essential, along with the ability to challenge business assumptions and break down complex problems into actionable opportunities. The candidate must be capable of simplifying complex ideas, articulating views clearly, and tailoring communication to various audiences.

  • Initiative, accountability, and ambition in executing tasks independently
  • Experience in product leadership roles within vaccines is preferred, however, biological and/or pharmaceutical environment is a must
