In our Corporate Legal, Compliance & Insurance unit we advise on legal issues and insurance and support the BASF Group's Compliance & Integrity Program. With our expertise, we support our colleagues as an active partner. Our global team ensures that our advice is always close to the customer.


In the Cluster Human Rights within the department Corporate Compliance, we are responsible for the steering and coordination of the human rights management approach within the BASF-Group:

  • You will drive and accompany the further development of our Human Rights Management approach, which we manage for BASF globally out of Corporate Compliance and which we continuously strengthen and integrate together with a cross-functional team.
  • Furthermore, you will help us to continuously analyze and monitor human rights risks in our business activities as well as our global supply chains and further develop concepts for enhanced due diligence in cooperation with other units as well as regions, and also to translate those into appropriate, effective measures and guidelines.
  • You will prepare and visualize critical as well as complex issues in a structured way and support responsible decision-making on topics of high importance for BASF.
  • Also, you enjoy engaging with different stakeholders and winning them as allies on this journey. To this end, you will create suitable communication, information, as well as training materials. You will also prepare, accompany and lead workshops.
  • You will keep track on external developments as well as trends and develop ideas how to continuously upgrade and report on our risk-based due diligence approach to meet both, increasing external requirements as well as high internal standards.
  • In addition, you will work together with the Corporate Compliance Team to strengthen our community management and promote a culture of responsible business conduct.

  • a successfully completed degree in business administration, social sciences, sustainability, psychology or a related field
  • a minimum of three years of professional experience in an international corporation and context as well as relevant experience in the areas of compliance, human rights, international labor and social standards, sustainability or supply chain management is an advantage
  • enthusiasm for the topic of human rights and responsible business conduct
  • enjoyment in shaping and implementing future-oriented topics as well as in cross-functional and international cooperation
  • fluent communication skills in English, good German language skills would be an advantage
  • empathy and a good sense of handling critical issues and complex topics
  • openness and high motivation to collaborate in a team to achieve success
