The mission of the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) is medical translation: transferring biomedical research findings into novel approaches to personalized prediction, prevention, diagnostics and therapies and, conversely, using clinical observations to develop new research ideas. The aim is to deliver relevant medical benefits to patients and the population at large. Since 2021 the BIH has been integrated into Charité as its so-called third pillar.

For the Research Group Computational Medicine starting from July 1st 2024 limited until June 30th 2027 we are looking for a

Scientific Project Manager (f/m/d) in full-time or part-time (min. 19,50 h/week)

We invite applications for a Scientific Project Manager (part- or full-time) to take on central tasks in the application, administration, and coordination of scientific projects for the Computational Medicine Team at the BIH (https://www.bihealth.org/​en/​research/​research-group/​computational-medicine). This includes coordination of the group's national and international collaborations, especially with our partner team at the Precision Healthcare University Research Institute at Queen Mary University of London, UK (https://www.qmul.ac.uk/phuri/).   • Responsible for managing and supporting the scientific infrastructure of the Computational Medicine group
  • Responsible for the application, management, reporting and coordination of collaborative projects at national and international level
  • Active support and management of the acquisition and administration of third-party funding
  • Coordination and support of scientific recruitment, projects and teaching activities
  • Budget management and preparation of account statements and overviews
  • Organisation and coordination of scientific events, communications/press, talks and travel
  • General science management
  • Opportunities to contribute to scientific projects within the research focus of the Computational Medicine group

  • Completed scientific university degree (Master, Diploma or comparable) in a life-science or technical science field, possibly with doctorate
  • Professional experience in science management in higher education, business or the public sector
  • Experience of scientific project management in the German higher education system is considered an advantage
  • Demonstrable experience in the acquisition and management of third-party funded projects and in business communication
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrable talent to develop and implement strategic objectives
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organisational and team building skills
  • High proficiency of written and spoken English and German
  • Solid IT skills with different Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of programming languages for data processing and management (such as R, SQL, or Python) is an advantage but optional
