- Assessment of toxicological, ecotoxicological and physicochemical data, including non-animal approaches like QSAR and read-across; data gap analyses and development of testing strategies; commissioning and monitoring of experimental studies when needed.
- Implementation of hazard assessment according to new environmental CLP hazard classes as well as follow-up with and, where required, implementation of testing strategy according to data requirements under EU REACH for respective endpoints.
- Determine the hazard of chemicals and products and develop risk assessment strategies for the safety of workers, consumers, customers and the environment.
- Preparation of registration dossiers according to international legislation like e.g. REACH.
- Classification and labelling of substances and mixtures according to regulatory requirements (e.g. EU CLP / UN GHS).
- Communication of hazard and risk information with stakeholders internally and externally (e.g. coordination of relevant topics for business units with Product Stewardship).
- Representation of the company towards authorities and national and international committees, consortia and associations.
- PhD in (eco)toxicology and/or postgraduate education in toxicology / ecotoxicology (e.g., Fachtoxikologe / Fachtoxikologin DGPT, ERT, DABT, SETAC GLB or comparable).
- Profound knowledge of eco- / toxicological studies, assessment of the results and application in regulatory processes and for risk assessments; knowledge in polymer chemistry / toxicology is a plus.
- Proficient in the identification of toxicological, ecotoxicological and physicochemical information and literature searches.
- More than 5 years of profound professional experience in the area of interest, including experience in industry.
- Self-motivated, reliable team player with a proactive mindset and very good communication skills.
- Fluent in both German and English and used to work in an international setting.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office applications and IUCLID; additional knowledge of SAP EHS or software for exposure assessment is a plus.
