At our site in Bergkirchen, we develop and manufacture components, modules and devices for generating, transporting and measuring light. Our technical sales team provides expert advice and support to our customers. The warehouse at our site is responsible for shipping all Thorlabs products within Europe.

- Coordinate the timely completion of monthly closing processes.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management information reports, including detailed variance analyses.
- Conduct comprehensive financial and reporting analyses to support operations, ensure financial accuracy, and drive improvements.
- Work closely with various business partners, acting as their primary point of contact to support their activities and optimize their financial performance.
- Perform all relevant reconciliations, including inventory control of the European warehouse, to ensure strong financial and operational governance.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS.
- Coordinate the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Support internal and external audits by providing the required information.
- Contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at continuously improving operational activities.
- Provide support to the Accounting Manager and the local Head of Finance.

- Führen Sie umfassende Finanz- und Berichtsanalysen durch, um den operativen Betrieb zu unterstützen, die finanzielle Genauigkeit zu gewährleisten und Verbesserungen voranzutreiben
- Arbeiten Sie eng mit verschiedenen Geschäftspartnern zusammen und fungieren Sie als deren Ansprechpartner, um sie in ihrem Arbeitsbereich zu unterstützen und deren finanzielle Leistung zu optimieren
- Führen Sie alle relevanten Abstimmungen durch, einschließlich der Bestandskontrolle des europäischen Warenlagers, um eine solide finanzielle und operative Kontrolle sicherzustellen.
- Unterstützen Sie bei der Erstellung des Jahresabschlusses nach HGB und IFRS
- Koordinieren Sie die Erstellung von Budgets und Prognosen
- Unterstützen Sie bei internen und externen Audits durch Bereitstellung der dafür erforderlichen Informationen
- Unterstützen Sie Projekte und Initiativen zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung unserer operativen Tätigkeiten
- Unterstützen Sie den Accounting Manager und den lokalen Leiter der Finanzabteilung.
- A completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a comparable qualification, ideally with a focus on Controlling or Finance.
- Initial professional experience (2–4 years) in the field of Controlling, preferably within an internationally operating company.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (especially Excel), including Power BI and Power Automate; initial experience with MS Dynamics 365 is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, quick comprehension, and a structured, solution-oriented approach to work.
- High level of commitment, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Very good German skills (C1 level) and good English skills (B2 level), both written and spoken.

- Abgeschlossenes Studium in Wirtschaftswissenschaften oder Betriebswirtschaft mit dem Schwerpunkt Controlling, Finanzwesen oder einer vergleichbare Qualifikation
- Erste Praxiserfahrungen (2-4 Jahre) im Bereich Controlling, möglichst in einem international tätigen Konzern wünschenswert
- Sicherer Umgang mit den MS-Office Produkten (insbesondere Excel), inkl. Power BI und Automate, sowie erste Erfahrungen mit MS Dynamics 365 wünschenswert
- Analytisches Denkvermögen, eine schnelle Auffassungsgabe sowie eine strukturierte und lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise
- Engagement, Kommunikationsstärke und Teamfähigkeiten runden Ihr Profil ab
- Sehr gute Deutsch- (C1) und gute Englischkenntnisse (B2) in Wort und Schrift
