About the department

The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a crucial strategic role in accelerating the growth of Miele's direct-to-consumer (D2C) business with a focus on Own Retail across all retail channels. As the link between global D2C strategy and local implementation, the BDM ensures the roll-out of innovations in customer experience while safeguarding profitability and operational excellence of Own Retail stores.With an entrepreneurial spirit and an unwavering commitment to delighting customers and its integrative approach to stakeholder management, the BDM coaches and inspires retail teams to reach their full potential. Whether launching new flagship stores, building communities of best practice, or guiding the digital transformation, the BDM brings world-wire expertise in premium retail. The BDM will take on hands-on performance management of Own Retail stores by analyzing metrics, identifying operational improvements, and implementing solutions to increase efficiency and profitability. He will be taking on local projects onsite on interim basis.


  • Translate global D2C strategies into regional and local implementation plans, ensuring effective adaptation to market conditions
  • Provide hands-on expertise, training and coaching to retail teams, Instilling a culture of customer centricity, operational excellence and continual improvement
  • Follow-up of expansion projects for stores and other retail touchpoints, from searching of marketing opportunities to improvement of to performance tracking, staffing and training
  • Cultivate communities of best practice for knowledge sharing among markets, and organize regional workshops and exchange for capability building
  • Monitor KPIs and financials to ensure profitability targets are met across physical (OR stores) and digital (Go-in-Store) channels

  • Experience in luxury/premium retail management, with expertise spanning online and brick & mortar channels
  • Proven track record in delivering complex omnichannel growth strategies across international markets
  • Entrepreneurial leadership style that inspires teams and raises performance standards.
  • Deep knowledge of D2C business models, digital innovation and international expansion
  • Strong project management, sales and negotiation abilities
