The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is the largest biomedical research center in Germany. With over 3,400 employees, we conduct an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research. The DKFZ is committed to promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

The Equal Opportunities Office serves all DKFZ employees, advocating not only for gender equity but also for all dimensions of diversity.

We are looking for your support in a full-time position (39.5 hours per week) for the Equal Opportunities Office. As an employee, you will be the first point of contact for inquiries related to the Equal Opportunities Office and will assist in coordinating with all relevant departments within the DKFZ. You will be responsible for organizing events, preparing reports, and managing budgets. Additionally, you will actively contribute to the organization of Equal Opportunities Office projects. The position is assigned to the equal opportunities officer and the DEI management.


  • Independent project management of office initiatives, including newsletters, website, and social media updates, policy reviews, and resource development
  • Support and development of employee networks to foster inclusive work environments
  • Assistance with planning and coordinating DEI events, including awareness campaigns, training programs, and working group meetings
  • Managing project management tools and the file storage system of the Equal Opportunities Office
  • Event management, assisting in organizing lectures, webinars, and working group meetings
  • Maintaining partnerships and stakeholder engagement through collaboration with internal teams and external organizations
  • Handling administrative and budget-related tasks to ensure efficient office operations
  • Coordination and management of elections for Equal Opportunities Officers, including communication, nominations, and logistics

  • A bachelor's degree (in social sciences, humanities, psychology) or equivalent professional experience in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Strong knowledge and commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • High motivation and openness to a diverse range of tasks
  • A precise and structured work approach with excellent organizational skills
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in project management and familiarity with project management tools is an advantage
  • The working language in the Equal Opportunities Office is English. Basic knowledge of German is required.
