The Technician cell culture and DNA engineering, R&D (d/f/m) for Cytiva is responsible for boosting scientific innovation in AAV production.
This position reports to the Head of Synthetic Virology and Cell Engineering and is part of the Technology Development Department located in Cologne, Germany; it is a fix-termed position opened for 12 months and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Independently conduct and analyze wet lab experiments with some supervision as well as presenting your own results in internal meetings.
- Learn and get trained on cutting edge synthetic biology methods.
- Collaborate with other teams across departments of the organization.

- “Ausbildung” with >3 years of job experience using techniques in R&D setting or M.Sc in molecular biology, cellular biology, molecular life sciences, biochemistry or similar field.
- Experience with molecular cloning and mammalian cell culture are essential. Previous experience with qPCR, ELISA, Western blot or viral vector production are a plus.
- Good communication skills in English and willingness to work in an international team. German language skills are a plus.
- Formal experience with GMP is not required but a good documentation routine is essential.
- Being comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving goals, being curious about scientific experimentation and proactive in case of questions, concerns, and ideas.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Presentation skills.
- Virology.
- Intercultural competence.
