In the “Innovations & Future Technologies” area, our “Future Software & AI” department develops innovative, forward-looking concepts and products for the future of Mercedes-Benz. With user experience, software architecture and AI, the portfolio covers key features of our vehicles and the associated ecosystem. The AI Research Team conducts research in areas such as neuromorphic computing, Machine Learning, GenAI and quantum AI. We work intensively on investigating new methods of artificial intelligence and developing them further to make them usable for our company together with our colleagues from the specialist departments. We strive to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence and create customized, innovative solutions for our customers. Project Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join us as a Working Student to evaluate novel sensor data processing pipelines. Novel models will be developed and benchmarked to assess power consumption and computational efficiency.
These challenges await you:
- Evaluate novel sensor data processing pipelines
- Develop novel models
- Benchmark models to assess power consumption and computational efficiency
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, theoretical or cognitive neuroscience, computer science, physics, robotics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Must have
- Strong background in machine learning, statistics
- Programming skills, preferably in Python
Nice to have
- Experience with deep learning, in particular vision-related architectures
- Experience with multi-modal sensor data (e.g., camera, LIDAR, radar)
- Previous research experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or related field
Soft Skills:
- Very good English skills (both verbal and written)
