We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Lead to lead and scale our global Azure-based Data Platform team. This role is critical in driving the strategic development, governance, and expansion of our IoT and enterprise data ecosystem, enabling analytics, machine learning, and GenAI applications. You will be responsible for managing a team of data engineers and architects, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our data platform while aligning it with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and grow the Data Platform team, fostering a high performance culture, a culture of collaboration, technical excellence and continued innovation.
- End-to-End Platform Ownership: Oversee the design, implementation, and evolution of a scalable, well governed data platform based on Azure (Data Factory, Power BI, ADLS, Databricks) and medallion architecture.
- Data Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the strategic vision for the data platform, ensuring alignment with business and digital transformation goals.
- Scalability & Performance: Develop robust data ingestion, transformation, and storage frameworks optimized for IoT and high-volume data workloads.
- Data Governance & Security: Implement governance models that ensure data quality, security, compliance, and reusability, fostering a platform-first mindset across the organization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, R&D, Business, and Finance teams to integrate and support data-driven solutions that support business objectives.
- Program & Project Leadership: Oversee complex, cross-functional programs and projects, ensuring efficient execution, resource allocation, and stakeholder alignment.
- Technology & Innovation: Drive innovation in data processing, analytics, and AI/ML integration, leveraging emerging Azure and GenAI capabilities.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and scaling data platform and data teams.
- Deep expertise in Azure Data Factory, Power BI, ADLS, Databricks, and lakehouse architectures.
- Strong background in IoT data processing, high-volume data pipelines, and ETL workflows.
- Experience in data governance frameworks ensuring security, compliance, and standardization.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and scalable ETL development.
- Demonstrated ability to drive platform adoption, lead cross-functional initiatives, and manage large-scale programs.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders.
- Good understanding of B2B worldExperience with machine learning, AI, and GenAI is a plus.
