Head of Health & Safety (m/f/d)

The Group Head of Health & Safety (m/f/d) will act as a champion for continuous improvement to support behavioral and cultural change within a global matrix organization where environment, health and safety management is world class and is embedded within the business operations. In this role, you will report to the Global Senior Director of HSEQS and you will be part of the HSEQS leadership team globally.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Health and Safety Leadership: Provide direction and support for the global Health and Safety Strategy, aiming for a zero-incident safety culture. Develop methods to increase employee engagement and safety leadership behaviors.
- Standardization and Policy Setting: Drive global standardization of best practices, set and own Group H&S policies, and share critical knowledge to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaboration and Alignment: Maintain strong relationships with Regional HSE managers, Operations, and site HSE staff to ensure alignment on injury prevention and safety goals and targets.
- Performance and Compliance: Engage business leaders to review health and safety performance, compliance, and issues. Ensure processes and procedures meet legal requirements, providing guidance on legal duties.
- Occupational Health and Wellness: Lead key Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and ergonomics programs. Oversee wellness programs in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Expertise and Guidance: Provide subject matter expertise in industrial hygiene, offering technical guidance for sites and handling occupational health queries with detailed medical responses.
- Global Safety Strategy: Develop, implement, and administer global safety strategies, technical training, and programs such as Global Safety Day and behavioral programs, in accordance with company guidelines.
- Coaching and Development: Provide coaching and mentoring, accountable for developing HSE competencies, capabilities, and talent.
- Compliance Audits and Integration: Support the HSE global compliance audit program and integration process within the organization.
- Travel Requirements: Up to 30% travel is required.
- Technical skills in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene and good understanding of process safety.
- Relevant professional experience with proven leadership skills.
- University degree in a technical/science field with relevant operational experience. Advanced degree in management of health and safety and implementing HSE corporate standards.
- Experience of business partnering with operational leadership teams and driving the health and safety agenda in a sophisticated engaging way manner.
- Very good speaking and writing English language capabilities.
