  • Develop and optimize Metal Pre-Treatment products and processes for automotive/OEM applications, ensuring efficient and sustainable implementation at customer sites
  • Perform hands-on laboratory work (approximately 60% of your role) to enhance conversion coating technologies
  • Leverage digital tools such as Design of Experiments (DoE), statistical analysis, and data modeling to accelerate development, improve process stability, and drive innovation
  • Scale up new technologies from lab to full-scale Henkel production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless industrialization
  • Gain deep expertise in corrosion mechanisms, metal surface interactions, and conversion layer formation to continuously improve existing solutions
  • Support customer trials and on-site implementations, requiring travel to manufacturing sites for periods of up to two weeks when needed
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, assisting in marketing, promotion, and deployment of advanced metal pre-treatment technologies
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and audit standards, actively participating in 5S and site safety programs

  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with an advanced technical background
  • Hands-on experience in the laboratory, ideally within the field of surface treatment
  • Expertise in corrosion science, electrochemistry, and industrial metal surfaces, with knowledge of surface analytical techniques such as XPS, GDOES, ToF-SIMS, FTIR, and SEM
  • Proficiency in data-driven approaches, including statistical analysis, Design of Experiments (DoE), and data modeling, to optimize processes and improve performance
  • Independent and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to balance creativity and analytical thinking in both customer-facing and laboratory tasks
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, enabling effective collaboration within our multinational Surface Treatment team and with global customers
