As Senior Manager - Transformation Strategy and Projects you work closely with the Executive Board, especially the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), management and the business units to drive the strategic orientation of the ZEISS Group with a focus on the transformation area of ZEISS

  • Steer strategic initiatives and take over the technical management of projects with change management, governance implementation of ZEISS transformation initiatives

  • Support, control progress and challenge strategic direction of core digital transformation programs e.g., the new SAP system, a new CRM system and workday as new ZEISS-wide standards with a major impact on processes and organizational structures at ZEISS

  • Apart from this you may also support the cultural development of ZEISS towards a process- and data-driven organization

  • Work in a complex environment across many business units, country organizations and business supporting functions across the globe

  • As a driving force, you will cooperate with the core team of the CTO area (especially IT and the country organizations) and the business units to evaluate new fields of technology and derive market potential and trends

  • Based on your results, you will develop trend-setting decision papers and have an impact in the strategic development of ZEISS' core competencies


  • an outstanding degree in natural sciences, engineering or business administration with a PhD or MBA

  • professional experience within one of the leading management consultancies, experience in large transformation programs (digital, processes, data) is a plus

  • experience in (business) transformation and large-scale change projects in complex organizations and outstanding analytical competence, strategic thinking and implementation skills

  • enjoy working in an agile way in networked and interdisciplinary teams

  • very strong soft skills and empathy to lead multiple stakeholders through organizational change and passion for innovation, business development and enthusiasm for new technologies

  • fluent in English, both written and spoken; fluent in German is a strong plus
