With a fleet of 287 modern container ships and a Vessel Capacity 2.2 million TEU, as well as a Container Capacity 3.2 million TEU including one of the world's largest and most modern reefer container fleets, Hapag-Lloyd is one of the world's leading liner shipping companies. In the Liner Shipping segment, the Company has around 13.500 employees and 400 offices in 139 countries. Hapag-Lloyd has a container capacity of 11.9 million TEU – including one of the largest and most modern fleets of reefer containers. A total of 114 liner services worldwide ensure fast and reliable connections between more than 600 ports across the world. In the Terminal & Infrastructure segment, Hapag-Lloyd has stakes in 20 terminals in Europe, Latin America, the United States, India, and North Africa. The roughly 2.600 employees assigned to the Terminal & Infrastructure segment deal with terminal-related activities and provide complementary logistics services at selected locations.
- You will ensure and monitor compliance with customs and export control regulations within the company, taking into account the current legal situation
- You will carry out the inspection and classification of products in accordance with applicable export control regulations (export list, EC Dual-Use Regulation, sanctions lists, embargoes)
- You apply for export licences and communicate with the relevant authorities
- You will monitor and document all export-related processes to ensure compliance
- You act as a contact person for internal departments on export control issues
- You will supervise, optimise and implement processes and create and update work and organisational instructions in close cooperation with the Export Control Officer
- You will be involved in interdisciplinary projects and topics
- You have a degree in business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification and have several years of professional experience in the areas of customs, import and export or export control
- You also have knowledge of the relevant national and international regulations (e.g. EU Dual-Use Regulation, U.S. EAR) and the Foreign Trade and Payments Ordinance
- You are familiar with the customs tariff/list of goods for foreign trade statistics and can demonstrate knowledge in dealing with goods lists and authorisation procedures
- You have a structured and conscientious way of working and have a high level of problem-solving skills and a sense of responsibility
- You are a communicative and team-orientated person and communicate confidently in German and English
- Ideally, you already have experience of working with the relevant software solutions, such as AEB Export Control or SAG-GTS
