We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Costing Analyst to join our Global Finance Team in Kolbermoor / Germany:

Costing Analyst (m/w/d)


  • Cost Analysis & Reporting: Prepare and analyze cost reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS), variances, and product cost structures.
  • Costing of Products and Services: Establish, track, and update costs for all products and services, ensuring they reflect actual production costs.
  • Cost Forecasting: Support forecasting and budgeting processes by providing accurate cost projections and cost-saving recommendations.
  • Inventory Valuation: Assist in the valuation of inventory, ensuring proper allocation of direct and indirect costs.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, and finance departments to collect accurate cost data and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Costing System Management: Maintain and improve costing systems and ensure the data is accurate and up to date for decision-making.
  • Ad-hoc Costing Projects: Handle ad-hoc requests and cost analysis projects as needed by management.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies regarding cost reporting.
  • Monthly Financial Close Activities: Close ERP modules, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and analyze the cost of sales expenses.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Ideally, at least two yeas of experience in cost accounting or costing analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or product-based environment
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing cost structures
  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial software tools (ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar is a plus)
  • Experience with inventory and production costing systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with excellent communication skills and to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of US GAAP or other relevant accounting standards is beneficial
  • Desire to drive cost reduction and improve and strong customer focus on internal customers' business processes
  • Willingness to work in an international environment, some travel might be required
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
