Position Description
The Scientist, Microbiome Product Development will join a team of innovative Scientists developing products and technologies for nucleic acid extraction, specifically focused on the microbiome field.
Key responsibilities:
- Development of automated workflows for nucleic acid extraction and downstream analysis.
- Project management with internal and external project partners, collaboration within interdisciplinary project teams and across company functions.
- Scientific presentation and documentation of R&D results, internally and externally.
- Support of new product launch to market, including technical customer support.
- Life cycle management and technical support for existing product lines.
- Managing and mentoring junior scientific staff.
- Active networking with key opinion leaders in the field of microbiome.
Position Requirements
- Scientific degree (ideally PhD or equivalent) in biology, microbiology, immunology, or a related relevant field.
- Comprehensive knowledge and laboratory experience of modern molecular biology techniques, in particular nucleic acid purification and amplification technologies. Knowledge of microbiome science.
- Specific experience with microbiology, metagenomics, NGS and bioinformatics.
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills, for both internal and external audiences.
- Experience as independent postdoc in academia or industry is a plus.
- Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to scientific conferences and customer sites.
