Strategic Analyst (m/f/x)

​The position is initially limited to 2 years and full-/part-time (at least 30 hours/week).


For 25 years, HPI has been committed to excellence in research and teaching. To expand our impact on society and ensure we remain agile and competitive in an evolving educational landscape, we are forming a new Strategic Projects Team. This team will play a crucial role in developing, communicating, and implementing HPI's long-term strategies through data-driven analysis and close collaboration with management board and leaders across the organization.

Are you ready to take on a key role in shaping the future of our institute? We are seeking a Strategic Analyst (m/f/x) to support us in taking data-based decisions that directly contribute to our strategic goals.

Together with our team and the HPI management, you take the lead in researching, analyzing, and processing data to help us achieve the institute's mission and long-term success.

  • Market and competitor analyses: You conduct detailed research and analyses on market trends, competitors, industry developments, and target groups
  • Data analysis and interpretation: You collect, process, visualize, and analyze data to support strategic decisions
  • Strategic recommendations: You derive and develop recommendations for action for management based on data analyses and market research
  • Project support: You support projects and initiatives, particularly in the area of strategic development and implementation


  • Experience: You have a degree in economics, business administration, statistics, business informatics or a related field as well as initial professional experience in market and data analysis
  • Strong analytical skills: You understand how to derive clear and actionable strategies from complex data. Additionally, you have very good knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL) and ideally experience with market research methods as well as visualization tools (e.g., Canva)
  • Strategic thinking: You can quickly recognize correlations and develop innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills: You can prepare and present complex issues in an understandable way. Fluency in German (at least B2) and English enables you to navigate both local and international contexts effortlessly
  • High level of initiative and independence: You work independently, in a structured and goal-orientated manner
  • Preferred: You have experience in Academia and are aware of the unique challenges of academic institutions or research environments
