Position Description

Job Summary: the Head of Global EHS is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's global environmental, health, and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, promotes a culture of safety, and drives continuous improvement in EHS performance across all company locations. This role is a member of the ESG Committee.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Collaborate with senior management and other key stakeholders to integrate EHS considerations into business planning and decision-making processes
  • Further develop and execute a comprehensive global EHS strategy aligned with the company's business objectives
  • Lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals across multiple regions and develop and cultivate relationships with local EHS representatives based at other company locations
  • Foster a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Further develop and adapt the current global environmental, health and safety management system to drive continuous improvements and to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Expand and adapt the current global environmental, health and safety processes landscape to align with evolving sustainability requirements
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate EHS risks and ensure continuous improvement
  • Lead the chemical compliance program to ensure timely communication into the Substance of Concern Program

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Further develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure EHS performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Prepare and present regular reports on EHS performance to senior management and stakeholders

Sustainability and Environmental Initiatives:

  • Support the ESG strategy to reduce the company's environmental footprint and promote sustainability

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Further build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other external stakeholders
  • Represent the company in EHS-related matters at industry conferences and forums

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of global environmental, health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective environmental, health and safety programs.
  • Experience in a multinational organization is highly desirable.
