The Trench Germany GmbH, headquartered in Bamberg, supplies instrument transformers to grid and power plant operators all over the world, with each of the 1500 annual order items specified and manufactured to customer specifications. Every detail matters since instrument transformers are operated in a system-relevant infrastructure. They are technically highly sophisticated devices where exact manufacture and function are essential. The challenge is the precise transformation of the voltage and current in high-voltage lines to a lower level. This is then used for measurement and control purposes in the substation control rooms.
Key Account Manager HVDC (m/f/d)
Hybrid | Full time | Senior (5+ years)
- Establish and maintain partnerships between Trench Group (including all supplying factories) and stakeholders at assigned key customers for HVDC and FACTS projects, covering the entire portfolio of Instrument Transformers, Bushings, and Coils.
- Develop opportunities with customers, implement bid-winning strategies, and ensure timely, cost-effective, and optimized offers while leading bid negotiations.
- Stay in close contact with key decision-makers in the customer's procurement and project organization, keeping the offer pipeline up to date.
- Contribute to the budget and forecasting process, coordinating across factories to agree on new project contracts and managing special tasks such as audits and escalation management.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery, facilitating support from Offer Management, Engineering, and other departments as necessary.
- Monitor and assess customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape to stay ahead in the market.
- Provide regular reports and feedback on sales performance to management, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Sales. Ideally experience in selling high voltage products to OEM customers and/or experience in HVDC or FACTS business
- Strong customer focused approach
- Sense of ownership and responsibility
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, including English proficiency. Other Languages are a plus
- International work experience and intercultural teamwork is mandatory
- Sales and negotiation skills and experience
- Analytical mindset and systematic work approach
- Willingness to travel (~25% out of office)
