About the role

BayWa r.e. Operation Services GmbH manages wind farms and solar parks throughout Europe. For many years, we have been optimizing wind farm's performance through technical analyses, with the help of modern operations management software in combination with state-of-the art data infrastructure.

To support our team, we are looking for a Working Student or Intern Data Science: Wind Turbine Temperature Data (m/f/d) for our office in Munich.


  • You will work within a multidisciplinary team of Subject Matter Experts (Wind Energy Domain), Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to discuss and determine the best approaches.
  • You will lead the development and implementation of an analytic tool for wind turbine temperature data.
  • Investigate, develop, and implement new and existing analytic methodologies to meet project goals.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for your developments.
  • Regularly present new developments, gather feedback, and align on next steps with the team.

  • You are currently studying Computer Science / Data Science / Mathematics or a comparable course of study
  • You have first experiences with data science / machine learning projects, preferably for time series data (from previous jobs / personal projects / university / hackathons etc.)
  • You have strong coding skills in Python and familiarity with the common packages like numpy, pandas, sklearn etc.
  • You have a basic knowledge of database systems
  • Willingness to think outside the box – we are looking for someone that wants to understand the data, where it comes from and why certain insights matter to our business
  • You have a creative and independent way of working proactively towards the project goals
  • You already worked with databricks / pyspark or similar platforms / frameworks for big data analytics
  • You are familiar with git / collaborative software development tools and Power BI
