We are committed to shaping the future of automotive mobility by developing highly automated driving systems for both highway and urban areas. Our development teams in Germany, China, India, and the US work with state-of-the-art technologies to develop innovative and class-leading systems to provide our customers with the best experience possible. To master this challenge, we are looking for an energetic and committed intern within our Road Perception Team in Sindelfingen.
We are seeking a candidate who can support us on-site for a duration of six months. During your internship, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, contribute to state-of-the-art research, and be an integral part of our mission to revolutionize the future of transportation.
Following your internship, there may be opportunities to stay within our department as a working student, thesis student, or by pursuing a PhD.
These challenges await you:
- Prepare large-scale in-house perception datasets for training and evaluation purposes
- Develop in house data pipelines to enable rapid prototyping on recent research models
- Jointly develop common evaluation tools with colleagues to streamline the assessment of machine learning algorithms
- Re-train, fine-tune, and evaluate state-of-the-art models on in-house datasets
- Visualize interesting samples for better understanding and presentation purposes
- Prepare and deliver presentations on research findings to other researchers and management
- Currently pursuing a master's degree in computer science, robotics, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or adjacent fields
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience with Linux and development on Linux Systems
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques, especially neural networks, and the corresponding software frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow
- Familiarity with computer vision, image processing, and deep learning techniques
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge in C++ programming
- Basic ROS knowledge
- Fluent proficiency in spoken and written German (optional)
- Experience in working with databases like SQL, PostgreSQL is a plus
- Experience with SLAM algorithms is a plus
