Your will

  • work as part of a team to position ZEISS in the bio-medical field, with a focus on opportunities in engineering biology (e.g., organoids for drug screening, tissue engineering)

  • identify and evaluate opportunities in the innovation sweet spot of desirability, feasibility, and viability by conducting innovation and market studies

  • identify customer needs, and develop solution concepts together with pilot customers beyond the current ZEISS portfolio

  • initiate and steer projects (incl. external partners) in the development of novel solutions (e.g., proof-of-concept demonstrators) and ensure the transfer of relevant knowhow to ZEISS

  • contribute to long-term roadmaps and innovation strategies in the bio-medical field

  • support the successful transfer of concepts, technologies, and solutions to ZEISS business units

  • as subject matter expert, engage with relevant ZEISS stakeholders on all levels and provide guidance to an interdisciplinary team


  • A university degree in life sciences, medicine, STEM (MINT) preferably with a PhD

  • A proven track record in workflow and technical understanding of organoids, tissue engineering, stem cells or similar

  • A keen interest in driving innovation in the field of biomedicine, biotech, or pharma

  • Understanding of clinical applications, GLP/GMP and similar regulations is a plus

  • Workflow & market understanding of pharma applications (e.g., toxicology testing, drug development, R&D) is a plus

  • Passion for proactively driving ideas and engaging stakeholders

  • Experience in project management and coordination of internal and external partners,

  • A desire to drive early stage and highly uncertain innovation beyond technology to market success

  • Fluent English language skills, an open mind, excellent problem-solving and communication skills
