Your tasks
We are looking for you as a highly skilled Senior Buyer with profound and proven procurement experience and personal passion for areas such as:
- Process Control and Scada Systems
- IT/OT
- Telecommunication (5G)
- Cyber Security
- Datacenter, IoT
- Power Systems Design
In this role, you will report in the line organization to the Head of Procurement Wind Energy. You will be part of dynamic and target-oriented project teams striving to successfully negotiate high volume contracts. Additionally, you will hold a secondary function as Category Manager for the above-mentioned areas.
Your activities include:
- You implement offshore procurement strategies within dedicated bidding and/or development projects that align with the company's objectives and respective category strategies, focusing on offshore wind energy projects. You take on the role of procurement lead for the respective lots in dedicated projects and lead the communication with the suppliers' project sales managers. You ensure continuous alignment with the project's operations team and consider relevant project and product life-cycle requirements. You take responsibility within the project team to run all required RFI/RFP/RFQ/ITT processes in alignment with the responsible Work Package Manager of the project
- Moreover, you negotiate and finalize the relevant contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers for dedicated projects to ensure competitive pricing (FEED/CAPEX/OPEX), quality, and timely delivery while adhering to budgetary constraints
- In addition, you collaborate cross-functionally with the teams from engineering, project management, finance, legal, and operations to ensure alignment and compliance with project timelines, specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Furthermore, you ensure full transparency about the project's procurement process, history, and positive/critical developments and continuously align or escalate (if needed) within the line or product organization
- You develop category strategies and drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes, vendor relationships, and cost-saving strategies
- You track and report observations of upcoming market trends, technological advancements, and industry developments as well as related opportunities and risks to allow adaptation and optimization of the generic and/or project-specific procurement strategies and decisions
Your profile
- You have a Master's degree or equivalent, preferably in Telecommunication, Industrial Engineering, Business studies, or a related field, and more than 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 3 years focused on wind energy projects in these fields, giving you a good technical understanding for the realization of large projects
- Moreover, you have a proven track record of successfully managing procurement activities, negotiating contracts, and building strong supplier relationships, always striving for the best solutions
- In addition, you possess a wide background of industry knowledge, a good understanding of current market conditions, and the ability to understand complex interdependencies to find the best technical and commercially relevant solution
- As a Senior Buyer (f/m/d), you have profound knowledge of IT and Service contracts and a passion for OT and IT
- Furthermore, you have strong communication and negotiation skills and can collaborate effectively across various teams and stakeholders. You are a team player with strong cooperative and integrative skills, highly engaged in negotiations, and strive to contractually fix solutions in a very international environment with a monopoly/oligopoly market setup
- You have an analytical mindset, are proficient in data-driven decision-making, and drive cost-effective solutions. Additionally, you are fluent in German and English and are willing to travel
