About the Role:
This is a key role, managing and delivering the marketing strategy for a growing business, to build brand awareness and differentiation in a competitive market.
This role will lead marketing services in support of the LM Re business strategy, as well as being part of Liberty's international Marketing team. The role has dual reporting lines to the Head of Marketing and to LM Re‘s Strategy Leader & Head of Business Development & Marketing. The international Marketing team is an award-winning, diverse group located across six countries. The team works across two business units:
- Our Global Reinsurance business, Liberty Mutual Re (LM Re) provides brokers and cedants with a broad product range through both the Company and Lloyd's markets. LM Re is situated in all core global market hubs and offers treaty property, casualty and specialty products. As at 31 December 2023, it had over $3bn of revenues.
- Liberty International Insurance is a business unit which represents all of Liberty's commercial, specialty, and personal lines insurance business outside North America. This business unit trades under two main brands, Liberty Specialty Markets for our international commercial and specialty business and Liberty Insurance for our retail business in Asia Pacific. Liberty International Insurance has approximately 8,000 employees and revenues of approximately $6.6bn as at 31 December 2023.
- Develop, deliver and win buy-in for a marketing and communications plan that aligns with business plans and growth priorities, and fits with the company's global brand guidelines and global, regional and product marketing communications strategy
- Present and communicate marketing ideas, programs, and strategies to LM Re Executives, Regional & Product Leaders and Head of Marketing
- Build and maintain relationships with regional and product leaders, to understand growth objectives, business priorities, market trends, broker/clients, being LM Re´s go-to marketing expert.
- Develop/implement a system of governance to ensure senior leaders across the world are informed of deliverables and plans on a quarterly basis
- Create and build business buy-in for a clear and differentiated global, regional and product proposition with supporting messaging and tools, working with underwriting, claims and other functions to help them articulate broker and client benefits in an impactful way
- Lead the execution of global marketing activities, including advertising, social media and events plans, gain buy-in from stakeholders, leverage internal support and drive collaboration
- Analyze broker insights, trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies
- Collaborate with the wider network of marketing and communications functional experts, including PR, digital marketing, brand, Global Distribution and internal communications experts. Provide them with the guidance, information and support they need to help you successfully deploy your campaigns and activities
- Responsible for budgets for individual projects and events
- Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules ,Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.
- Significant experience in a marketing department or agency, preferably within the financial services or insurance industry
- Strong understanding of marketing and communication strategy and tactics. Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills at all levels in the organization. Influencing and negotiation skills and strong teamwork are essential.
- Analysis and decision-making skills, as well as exercising good judgement in a range of situations.
- Self-management, planning and organizational skills. Demonstrates initiative and enthusiasm.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- An ability to build mutually beneficial business relationships with in-house clients, outside agencies and at external networking events.
- Education: University degree, CIM qualification or equivalent qualification
- Commercial and business awareness.
- Ability to travel on an ad hoc / infrequent basis. Fluency in English and knowledge of German, French or Spanish would be advantageous but not essential.
