Job Description

We are 50Hertz – one of the four transmission system operators (TSO) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity grid operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. At 50Hertz, over 2,100 employees ensure that electricity flows over long distances reliably, with minimal loss, and optimally managed. As a TSO, we play a central role in the implementation of the energy transition from a technical and economic perspective, acting as a facilitator. Our goal is to integrate 100 percent renewable energy into the grid and system securely and affordably by 2032.

Are you a highly motivated and experienced Portfolio Manager looking to make a substantial impact in a company's digital transformation? If so, we are looking for you.

In this pivotal role, you will facilitate the evolution of our Digital Portfolio and drive the transition to a product-based operating model. You will be based in our international team in Berlin and Brussels, actively influencing the digital transformation of our organization.

Reporting to the Head of Group Controlling - Portfolio Management, you will play a key role in shaping our digital transformation journey. Join us and make a difference in the digital future of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of digital portfolio projects and products in alignment with the Elia Group Strategy, using agile methodologies,
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and perform statistical and financial analyses to enable portfolio steering,
  • Develop and maintain project/product documentation to support strategic decision-making,
  • Facilitate key ceremonies, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Big Room Plannings, and Marketplace formats,
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define scope, objectives, and timelines, enhancing efficiency and adaptability using agile principles,
  • Monitor portfolio progress, identify risks and dependencies, and devise mitigation strategies,
  • Continually review and optimize portfolio management standards and processes.

  • Degree in Business Administration, Business Engineering, Finance, or a related field,
  • Relevant work experience in a strategic, portfolio, or controlling role,
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills,
  • Familiarity with product operating model formats, including QBR,
  • Strong understanding and experience in implementing agile practices,
  • Strategic thinker capable of resolving issues in a complex environment,
  • Curious and proactive mindset with strong analytical skills and a results-driven approach,
  • Agile, or Scrum Master certification is a plus,
  • Proficiency in German and English (C1 level). Knowledge of French or Dutch is beneficial,
  • Willingness to travel to Brussels/Berlin depending on business needs.
